MyQueerRhiza is an educator duo in St. Louis, MO weaving systems tools + transformative justice + relational somatics to nourish grassroots community building, and revolutionary change.
MyQueerRhiza knows that power-with relationships are the key, needed ingredient to confront power-over systems. And by queering our approach to transformative modalities that make collapsing systems obsolete, we aim to bolster the root-level power & medicine already inherent in our local community, and cultivate lasting change with resilient relationships.

“MyQueerRhiza” is a symbolic name-play on “mycorrhizae” which is derived from two Greek words, Mykos meaning fungus and Riza meaning roots.
A mycorrhiza is a mutually beneficial, symbiotic association between a fungus and a plant. The term mycorrhiza refers to the role of the fungus in the plant's rhizosphere, the plant root system and its surroundings. Mycorrhizae play important roles in plant nutrition, soil biology, and soil chemistry. New research is surfacing to suggest that the mycelium network of a mycorrhizae may be viewed as a “biological internet” and that plants are able to exchange information using the mycorrhizae network.
We identify queer, systems change work with the root & soil supporting, “look out for and share with your neighbor for the good of the whole” vibe that mycorrhizae symbolize. Plus “MyQueerRhiza” is a really cool name that helps us narrate complex systems relationships with really cool art.
